AND ROCK ISLAND RAILROAD KODAK PAPER COLOR SNAPSHOT PHOTOGRAPHS FROM 1970'S-1980'S
We've recently acquired a very large collection of nicely taken snapshot photographs by a Los Angeles, CA. fire engine afficionado who personally photographed a plethora of firefighting apparatus in the Southern California area during the 1970's-90's.
These fire department and railroad train photographs were taken in the Chicago, Illinois area during a few vacations of the photographer during the 1970's-1980's. This lot consists of 9 Chicago Fire Department photographs and 11 Rock Island Chicago railroad train photographs.
All of the Chicago Fire Department photographs involve an ACTIVE FIRE - EMERGENCY RESPONSE during the winter (there's snow on the ground). 2 of the photographs were taken during the day and 7 of them were taken at night (the images are dark and a camera flash appears to have been used). The trains were photographed enroute with the Chicago cityscape in the background and some appear to be taken at the train station or service yard.
The back of all the photographs has "THIS PAPER MANUFACTURED BY KODAK" stamps. The back of all the railroad train photographs is marked "Foxprint" and "AUG 1976" (printing date). Each 1970's-1980's vintage original fire department color photograph measures 3 1/2" x 4 7/8". Each 1976 vintage original railroad train color photograph measures 3 1/2" x 3 3/8". We don't specialize in fire engines or trains but have included some info for each photograph. This LOT OF 20 consists of the following:

-2 daytime photographs Mack ladder crane engine with firemen - one in the street near Uptown Liquors which has an old two-letter prefix phone number on the sign and one with 4 firemen standing on and next to the fire engine with the Pegasus Theater in the background. There's a Pegasus Theater banner sign mounted on a light post on the left side (1/4 turn front/back view)
-7 nighttime photographs involving ladder crane engine numbers 4 and 21, fire engine numbers 4, 5, 78, 110, 112 and a Command center step van. 4 photographs show the fire engine headlights on. Engine number 4 has the ladder crane up in the air. 4 photographs have firemen working. 6 photographs have 19th century architecture in the background (1/8-1/4 turn front/back and side view)

All of these vintage original color snapshot photographs are in good condition for being about 35-45 years old. They were gently removed from the old cellophane page protected photo album which kept them in good shape all these years. One railroad photograph has a small old lite stain spot on the back not visible on the front. Please see photos for condition. These are all vintage original photographs and not modern reprints.
