Slaughter defeated NWA World Champion Ric Flair via disqualification at the 34-minute mark when Boris Zhukov attacked Slaughter as Flair was caught in the Cobra Clutch; after the bout, Zhukov threw down the referee and continued to assault Slaughter; as Flair and Zhukov continued to double team Slaughter, Curt Hennig, Brad Rheingans, Buck Zumhoffee, and Tom Zenk made the save
